Kodjo Attisso is from Togo (West-Africa). After finishing his Bachelor’s degree in Civil law and Master’s degree in Business law at the Université du Bénin (now known as Université de Lomé), he worked on rural area projets and for an insurance company in Togo.
He came to Switzerland in 2005. From 2006 to 2007, he completed a Cerficate of Advanced Studies in Conflict Management at the School for Social Work (Hochschule für Sozial Arbeit) in Basel. At the same time, he worked on projets covering issues of migration and asylm procedures for a Swiss NGO in Bern.
Kodjo has also been active in the field of human rights. He completed a Certicate of Participation of the 34th Human Rights Session of the International Institut of Human Rigths of Strasbourg in France. He attended the 36th sessions of The United Nations Committee against Torture (CAT) in Geneva and other professional development trainings in Switzerland. He is currently a member of the Swiss branch of the organisation Christian Action Against Torture (ACAT-Swiss) and writes monthly urgent appeals on death penaly matters.
Kodjo completed his Master of Advanced Studies in Economic Crime Investigation at the Institute de Lutte contre la Criminalité Economique in Neuchâtel in November 2009. He wrote his Master thesis on the topic of stolen assets and the Swiss law.
Kodjo joined the International Center of Assets Recovery (ICAR) of the Basel Institut on Governance in September 2009 as a Researcher and Project Support Officer.
