Matthias Wilde is from Basel, Switzerland. He has a degree in business management and economics and worked for various companies in Switzerland. He then became a music journalist for Swiss National Radio and was also a producer of music programmes. For many years he was producing and organizing live-music broadcasts. Furthermore he was involved in marketing television shows. Until he started working for the Basel Institute on Governance he was promoting and organizing concerts and cultural events. 

He joined the team in October 2007 as a part-time Administrative/Project Assistant. He still has one foot in the music industry, managing a small independent music and sales platform for music produced in Switzerland. Matthias Wilde speaks German, English and French.
