  • Anti-Corruption Summit USA 2008, 16-17 April 2008, Chicago, USA. The 2008 Anti-Corruption USA Summit, organised by Ethical Corporation Conferences, will address the key question of how to effectively manage corporate compliance and ethics globally. Speakers include senior experts from experienced multinational corporations as well as representatives from relevant regulatory authorities from the US and worldwide.
  • 2nd Annual Fraud and Corruption Summit 2008, 5-7 March 2008, Stockholm, Sweden. Organised by MIS Training, the 2008 Fraud and Corruption Summit will analyse the latest corruption and bribery scandals worldwide and allow you to exchange information and knowledge about latest investigation methods, to test your personal ethics and give your company a "corporate health check" in a series of workshops and problem solving sessions, and to network with colleagues from the private sector and the regulators.   • Anti-Corruption: Minimizing your company's risk in an era of increased international law enforcement, 28-29 January 2008, Frankfurt a.M., Germany. The conference will discuss how to build a value-based anti-corruption programme, how to create a corporate ethics and compliance culture and local ownership in foreign operations, how to investigate suspected wrongdoing and conduct internal investigations, and analyse some of the latest European cases against companies and individuals, trends in International Cooperation among enforcement officials, and the long reach of the FCPA. The list of speakers also includes Dr Hans-Peter Bauer, Board member of the Basel Institute on Governance, who will speak about effective risk analysis and how to define and monitor red flags.

Past events:

  • 6th Swiss Health Cooperation Symposium: In the public interest. Non-governmental health service providers and national health systems. Basel, Switzerland, 6 November 2007. The symposium seeks to address issues around the role of non-profit health organisations in national health systems, and the problems they face between their own mission and changing national and international frames of reference.
    Lucy Koechlin from the Basel Institute on Governance will contribute a presention on "The same benchmarks apply to all: accountability, oversight and regulation in the not-for-profit sector": Communities and organisations of the civil society demand "good governance" not only from the state, but also from private health facilities whose services must be accessible, affordable and of good quality. The presentation will provide an overview over the main challenges and current accountability initiatives in the non-profit sector.
  • Business and Poverty Leadership Programme, 13-16 November 2006, Madingley Hall, Cambridge, organised by the University of Cambridge Programme for Industry (Tuesday 14 November, 7h30-8h30pm, Workshop on Poverty, corruption and business, Presenter: Lucy Koechlin, Basel Institute on Governance)
