Tanzania: FIU Training, August 2008
The Financial Intelligence Unit of Tanzania requested a capacity building training workshop for its personnel and other relevant stakeholders. In response to this request, the unit designed a 5-day interactive and hands-on practical training exercise custom-tailored to the particular needs of this audience. The workshop was designed to incorporate simulated case exercises, interspersed with thematic lectures, focusing on practical topics including customer due diligence, record keeping, monitoring unusual transactions, reporting to FIU and setting up effective procedures within an FIU. The training was successfully implemented in mid August 2008 in Dar Es Salaam for 30 trainees.
