Kaspar Fischer graduated from ETH Zürich, the Swiss Federal Institute
of Technology, with a MA in Computer Science (2001). He received a scholarship for the European Graduate Program "Combinatorics, Geometry, and Computation" and completed his PhD at ETH's Institute for Theoretical Computer Science in 2004.
Before joining ICAR, Kaspar had been working for several IT companies and clients as a programmer, project coordinator, and advisor in the field of New Media Technologies and Content Management Systems. Alongside his studies, he contributed to two Swiss development aid projects of the "Coopération Cameroun – Jura – Suisse" to manage vaccinations and evaluate patient-doctor communication in regard to upcoming AIDS therapies. He is currently completing a part-time continuing education in Applied Statistics at the University of Bern (July 2007). At ICAR, Kaspar is part of the ICT team and is working on development of the Asset Recovery Knowledge Center.
