This initiative provides principles and guidelines to its members to help in the prevention of corruption in day-to-day business. The goal of this initiative is to develop common industry standards to be applied across Europe in the aerospace and defence industry. These Common Industry Standards are a set of business ethics requirements that assist European companies in implementing integrity programs. Highlights:

• Five years before the UK instigated the Bribery Act, the Common Industry Standards, anticipated the concept of 'Adequate Procedures' prevention measures stated by the UK Guidance.
• In addition to The Common Industry Standards a dedicated ‘toolkit' is available to fulfil SME needs.
• Over 400 companies signed these standards in 2007.
• European national associations have promoted these guidelines to their local companies.

These standards are regularly updated to meet new regulations or standards requirements.
